How does a pneumatic punch work?

1.Working principle of pneumatic press

(1) The compressor generates high-pressure gas: first, the air is compressed into high-pressure gas by the compressor, and these gases are stored in the gas storage tank for subsequent use.

(2) Gas delivery and solenoid valve control: High-pressure gas is piped to the solenoid valve of the pneumatic press. The solenoid valve is the key component to control the flow of gas, and its opening and closing is controlled by a foot switch or a manual button to control the work and return of the cylinder.

(3) Cylinder-driven punching action: when the solenoid valve receives the control signal, the high-pressure gas enters the cylinder and pushes the piston to carry out linear motion. This movement is transformed into the up and down movement of the slider through the connecting rod mechanism, thus realizing the stamping processing of the stamped material.

2. How to use the pneumatic press?

(1) Installation and commissioning

Basic preparation:

- Ensure that the equipment is installed on a level ground, and the equipment leveling error is ≤0.1mm/m.

- Connection of gas piping, it is recommended that the use of internal diameter ≥ 8mm gas pipe, pressure adjusted to the rated value of the equipment.

Mold installation:

- Select matching upper and lower molds, fix them with T-bolts, and adjust the gap to 5%~10% of the material thickness.

(2) Operation Procedure

Start-up inspection:

- Make sure the emergency stop button is reset and the air pressure gauge shows stable.

- No-load test run 3~5 times, observe whether the slider movement is smooth.

Processing steps:

- Place the material on the table positioning slot, step on the foot switch to start stamping.

- Lubricate the guide rail every 2 hours for continuous operation (ISO VG32 lubricant is recommended).

(3) Safety and Maintenance

Protection:

- Photoelectric protection device must be installed, sensing distance ≤ 10cm (in accordance with OSHA standards).

- Operators need to wear goggles and noise-proof earplugs.

Common Troubleshooting:

- If there is air leakage, check whether the air hose connector is loose or the O-ring is worn.

- Slide jamming may be insufficient air pressure or guide rail oil shortage, need to stop the machine to troubleshoot.
