Bending Machine Principle of Operation

Bending machine is a kind of machine that can bend thin plates, commonly used in metal manufacturing, automobile manufacturing and other industries. In this article, we will introduce the working principle of the bending machine in detail, including structural composition and principle analysis.

 

1. Structural components

The bending machine is mainly composed of control system, machine body, worktable, hydraulic system, guide rail, upper and lower molds, etc..


(1)Control system: The control system usually adopts PLC or numerical control system, which realizes the setting and control of bending parameters through programming and operation interface, and is used to monitor and control the operation of the bending machine.


(2) Body: The main part of the whole equipment is the body of the bending machine, which is usually made of welded steel plate with sufficient rigidity and stability to withstand all kinds of force and vibration during processing.


(3) Table: The table is a platform for placing the metal sheets, usually made of rigid material, which is adjustable in height and can be fixed to ensure the stability and accuracy of the metal sheets.


(4) Hydraulic system: The power source of the bending machine is the hydraulic system, through the hydraulic cylinder to provide power, can simultaneously control the movement of the upper and lower mold. The hydraulic system includes hydraulic pumps, hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic control valves and hydraulic piping and other components.


(5) Guide rail: The guide rail usually adopts linear guide rail or rolling guide rail, with high precision and low friction characteristics. The guide rail is used to guide the movement of the upper and lower molds to ensure smoothness and accuracy in the bending process.


(6) Upper and Lower Dies: The upper and lower dies are important parts of a bending machine and are used for bending sheet metal. The upper die is usually made of a rigid material fixed to the body of the machine, while the lower die is made of a rigid material that can be moved for adjustment and operation.


2. Principle analysis

The working principle of a bending machine is based on the principles of mechanics and hydraulics.


(1) Mechanical principle: The bending machine bends the sheet metal by applying force. The force between the upper and lower molds acts on the sheet metal to cause plastic deformation, thus realizing the bending process.


(2) Hydraulic principle: The hydraulic system provides power to the machine by applying force through hydraulic cylinders. Hydraulic pump will be liquid (usually hydraulic oil) through the hydraulic piping to the hydraulic cylinder, the piston of the hydraulic cylinder by the action of hydraulic pressure and produce movement, drive the upper and lower mold movement.

 

The components of the bending machine are coordinated and capable of accurate bending of metal sheets. Its working principle is simple and easy to understand, the operation is convenient and flexible, and it can meet the processing needs of different shapes and sizes of metal sheets.
