We are a professional manufacturer of CNC hydraulic bending machine equipment with over 10 years of industry experience.Today,we would like to introduce to you:

The Y-axis of the CNC hydraulic bending machine is mainly responsible for controlling the up and down movement of the slider to achieve the bending operation of the sheet metal.Y-axis alarm is the feedback of equipment on abnormal conditions, and its causes are complex, usually involving multiple aspects such as mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and numerical control systems. The following is a specific analysis.

1.Mechanical malfunction

(1)Transmission component issues
1.Ball screw failure:The ball screw is a key component for achieving Y-axis linear motion. If the ball of the ball screw wears or breaks,it will lead to a decrease in transmission accuracy and an increase in operating resistance. When the resistance exceeds the system set threshold,an alarm will be triggered. In addition, poor lubrication of the screw nut pair can cause dry friction after prolonged operation, resulting in scratches and wear on the surface of the screw, which can also trigger a Y-axis alarm. For example,in the case of long-term use of CNC hydraulic bending machines and failure to replenish lubricating grease in a timely manner, the wear rate of ball screws accelerates, leading to alarms.
2.Abnormal guide rail:The guide rail is responsible for guiding the direction of movement of the slider. If there are impurities or foreign objects entering the surface of the guide rail,it will cause the slider to move poorly and experience jamming. At the same time,if the installation accuracy of the guide rail does not meet the standard, such as excessive parallelism and straightness errors of the guide rail,it will cause uneven force on the slider during movement, increase operating resistance, and trigger an alarm. In addition, insufficient lubrication of the guide rail can also exacerbate friction between the guide rail and the slider, leading to abnormal Y-axis operation.
(2)Loose mechanical connection
1.Loose coupling:The coupling is used to connect the motor and ball screw. If the fastening bolts of the coupling are loose,it will prevent the power of the motor from being effectively transmitted to the screw, resulting in misalignment of the Y-axis movement.During the operation of the CNC hydraulic bending machine, loose couplings can also produce vibration and abnormal noise, which can trigger an alarm in severe cases.

2.Loose connection between slider and transmission components:Loose connection between slider and ball screw nut pair or other transmission components can cause displacement deviation of slider during movement, affecting bending accuracy. When this deviation exceeds the allowable range of the system,it will trigger a Y-axis alarm.

2.Hydraulic system malfunction

(1)Abnormal pressure
1.Hydraulic pump failure:The hydraulic pump is the core component that provides hydraulic power. If the internal parts of the hydraulic pump are severely worn, such as the gear wear of the gear pump and the blade wear of the blade pump,it will cause insufficient output pressure of the pump, which cannot meet the power required for Y-axis movement and trigger an alarm. In addition, the blockage of the oil suction port of the hydraulic pump can cause poor oil suction and unstable output pressure of the pump, resulting in excessive pressure fluctuations and triggering an alarm.
2.Overflow valve failure:The overflow valve is used to regulate system pressure. When the overflow valve core is stuck in the normally open position, the system pressure cannot be established, the Y-axis cannot work normally, and an alarm is triggered; If the overflow valve core is stuck in the normally closed position, the system pressure will continue to rise, exceeding the safe pressure value set by the system, and an alarm will also be triggered. In addition, damage to the pressure regulating spring of the overflow valve can also cause pressure regulation failure and trigger a Y-axis alarm.
(2)Hydraulic oil problem
1.Hydraulic oil pollution:Impurities, moisture,or other pollutants mixed in hydraulic oil can block the pipelines, valves, and other components in the hydraulic system, affecting the normal flow of hydraulic oil and causing unstable system pressure. For example,if impurities enter the directional valve,it will cause the valve core to be inflexible, resulting in directional faults, affecting the Y-axis motion control, and triggering an alarm. At the same time, hydraulic oil pollution can exacerbate the wear of hydraulic components and shorten the service life of CNC hydraulic bending machines.

2.Insufficient hydraulic oil:If the hydraulic oil level in the hydraulic oil tank is too low,it will cause the hydraulic pump to empty, resulting in a decrease in system pressure and inability to operate the Y-axis normally. In addition, insufficient hydraulic oil can also cause cavitation in the hydraulic system, leading to vibration and noise, and in severe cases, triggering an alarm.

3.Electrical system malfunction

(1)Motor malfunction
1.Servo motor failure:The servo motor is the actuator that drives the Y-axis movement. If the servo motor winding is short circuited, disconnected,or grounded,it will cause the motor to malfunction, resulting in insufficient or unstable output torque, abnormal Y-axis movement, and triggering an alarm. In addition, encoder faults in servo motors, such as damaged encoders, loose or broken connecting cables, can cause inaccurate position feedback of the motor, affecting the system's precise control of the Y-axis and triggering alarms.
2.Motor overload:When encountering significant resistance during the Y-axis movement, such as mechanical component jamming or excessive load, the motor current will increase, exceeding its rated current, resulting in motor overload. The motor overload protection device is activated, triggering a Y-axis alarm.
(2)Electrical circuit issues
1.Short circuit or open circuit of the circuit:Electrical circuits related to the Y-axis,such as power lines, signal lines, etc.,if short circuit or open circuit occurs,it will cause electrical components to be unable to supply power normally or signal transmission to be interrupted. For example,a short circuit in the power supply line of a servo motor can cause the motor to be unable to obtain normal operating voltage and cannot operate; The signal line of the position sensor is broken, which will prevent the system from obtaining the position information of the Y-axis and trigger an alarm.

2.Loose wiring terminals:Loose wiring terminals in electrical circuits can cause poor contact, voltage drop,or unstable signal transmission.During the operation of the CNC hydraulic bending machine, loose wiring terminals may cause sparking, damage electrical components, and lead to abnormal Y-axis operation, triggering an alarm.

4.CNC system malfunction

(1)Parameter setting error
1.Improper setting of Y-axis related parameters:Incorrect settings of Y-axis parameters in the CNC system, such as stroke limit, speed limit, acceleration, position compensation, etc.,can cause the Y-axis movement to not meet actual requirements. For example, setting the travel limit parameter too small can trigger a limit alarm on the Y-axis before it reaches the normal working position;Setting the speed limit parameter too high, exceeding the bearing capacity of the motor or mechanical components, can cause unstable Y-axis operation and trigger an alarm.
2.System parameter loss:During the operation of the CNC system, some parameters may be lost due to power failures, electromagnetic interference, and other reasons. After the loss of Y-axis related parameters, the system cannot control the movement of the Y-axis normally, triggering an alarm.
(2)System software malfunction
1.Program error:The bending program written contains syntax errors, logic errors,or instruction conflicts, which can cause abnormalities in the CNC system during program execution and affect the motion control of the Y-axis.For example,if the Y-axis motion trajectory is set incorrectly in the program,it will cause the Y-axis to move to the wrong position and trigger an alarm.
2.System software failure:Software failures in the numerical control system, such as operating system crashes, software program vulnerabilities, etc.,can cause the system to fail to operate normally, resulting in ineffective control of the Y-axis and triggering alarms. In addition, compatibility issues between software and hardware may also lead to Y-axis alarms.
