As a high-energy processing equipment, the safe operation of laser cutting machine is directly related to the health of personnel and the stable operation of equipment. Establishing and enforcing strict safety norms is a necessary measure to prevent accidents. The following describes the safety requirements for laser cutting operations from multiple dimensions.
1, Safety check before starting the equipment
The operator needs to confirm that all parts of the equipment are intact. Focus on checking the laser generator shell sealing, optical lens without pollution or scratches, good lubrication status of the movement mechanism. Water-cooled system must reach the prescribed level, no leakage in the pipeline. The gas supply pressure should be stabilized in the set range, and the pipelines should be connected reliably without leakage.
The working environment needs to meet the safety conditions. No flammable objects should be piled up within 1 meter around the equipment, and the ventilation system should be in normal operation. The ground is dry and smooth, and the equipment is grounded reliably. Adequate lighting in the operation area, and the emergency stop button is clearly labeled and functioning properly. Fire-fighting equipment should be stored in the designated location and within the validity period.
2, Requirements for wearing personal protective equipment
Eye protection is the most critical. Operators must wear special laser protective glasses, lens wavelength protection range needs to match the laser type of equipment. Protective glasses optical density value (OD value) should be in line with safety standards, and regularly check the status of the lens.
Physical protection should not be ignored. Wear flame-retardant overalls to avoid loose clothing being caught in moving parts. Gloves should be made of heat-resistant material to prevent burns. When processing reflective materials, a fully enclosed protective mask must be used to avoid injury from reflected light.
3, Safety control during processing
Material loading needs to be standardized operation. The workpiece must be placed flat on the processing platform, and make sure it is fixed and reliable. Shaped parts need to use special fixtures to prevent displacement during cutting. The surface of the material should be clean to avoid oil or coating to affect the laser absorption and reflection.
Parameters should be set in strict compliance with process specifications. Do not increase the laser power or modify the focus position without authorization. Processing parameters for new materials need to be determined through safety tests. During batch production, the first piece must be checked for safety and confirmed to be free from abnormality before continuing the operation.
No unauthorized operation is allowed during equipment operation. Do not extend any part of your body into the processing area. When observing the cutting status, you must use the equipment observation window or monitoring system. If abnormal sounds, smoke or sparks are detected, immediately suspend operation and investigate the cause.
4, Safe handling of special materials
Highly reflective materials require additional protection. Before processing copper, aluminum and other materials, you must make sure that the equipment is equipped with anti-reflection devices. Operators need to stand on the side to observe and avoid facing the possible reflected light path. It is recommended that a low-power test cut be used to confirm safety before formal processing.
Enhanced protection is required for processing toxic materials. When cutting PVC and other halogen-containing plastics, the exhaust gas treatment system must be turned on and the operator must wear a gas mask. The processing area needs to be isolated, and non-relevant personnel are not allowed to approach. Clean up the residue in time after the operation to avoid secondary pollution.
Flammable materials are to be strictly controlled. When wood, paper and other materials are processed, the work table needs to be kept clean and free of debris. Equipped with water spray device or carbon dioxide fire extinguisher, the processing area is prohibited to store other flammable materials. Pulse mode cutting is recommended to reduce the risk of continuous combustion.
5, Safety regulations for equipment maintenance
Daily maintenance must be operated without power. Before cleaning lenses, replacing nozzles and other operations, you need to make sure that the laser power is completely turned off, and hang a warning sign. Maintenance personnel need to wear anti-static bracelet to avoid static electricity damage to optical components.
Optical components need to be cleaned in a professional way. Use the specified cleaning agent and dust-free cotton swabs to wipe the lenses in a fixed direction. Do not touch the optical surface directly with your hands, and check that there are no residual fibers or traces after cleaning. Heavily contaminated lenses should be referred to professionals.
Maintenance of mechanical parts pay attention to safety. Guide rail lubrication using specified grease, avoid different models mixed. Synchronous belt tension adjustment need to use special tools, too tight or too loose will affect the safety of operation. Maintenance of electrical parts must be operated by licensed electricians.
6, Measures to deal with emergencies
Fire emergency disposal is carried out in steps. Immediately press the emergency stop button to cut off the power supply of the equipment. Use carbon dioxide fire extinguishers to fight small fires, and prohibit the use of water to extinguish fires. Activate the fire alarm system when the fire expands, and evacuate according to the evacuation route.
Gas leakage take rapid response. Close the main valve of gas source, open doors and windows to strengthen ventilation. Prohibit switching on and off electrical equipment to avoid sparks causing explosions. Evacuate to the windward direction and wait for professional personnel to finish the treatment before returning.
Injured personnel need standardized treatment. Laser burns immediately rinse with flowing water for 15 minutes, covered with clean dressings and sent to the hospital. In case of electric shock, first cut off the power supply and then rescue, avoiding direct contact with the injured. If chemical splashes into the eyes, immediately use an eyewash to flush and seek medical attention.
7, Long-term mechanism for safety management
Personnel training needs to be carried out regularly. New employees must pass a safety assessment before they are allowed to start work, and in-service personnel receive annual retraining. The training covers the principles of equipment, protective knowledge, emergency treatment and other aspects, and practical assessment.
Safety supervision should be put in place. Workshop set up a full-time safety officer, daily inspection of equipment status and operating standards. Establish a safety hazard account, rectification and acceptance by a deadline. Regularly organize safety drills to improve emergency response capability.
Continuous improvement of equipment safety performance. Timely update the safety protection devices of old equipment and install laser protection interlocking system. When new equipment is purchased, safety performance should be an important evaluation index. Establish equipment safety files to record maintenance and upgrades.
