Shears are commonly used in the metal processing industry to cut plates through the relative motion of the upper and lower blades. Improper operation can lead to mechanical injuries, equipment failure and other problems, so it is critical to strictly follow the safety practices.

1, Pre-operation preparation

Before using the shearing machine, you need to carry out a comprehensive inspection of the equipment. First of all, check whether the connection of various parts of the body is solid, there is no sign of looseness, deformation or wear, focus on checking whether the transmission parts of the shield is intact, if the shield is missing or damaged, it must be repaired immediately to avoid injury caused by the involvement of limbs during operation. Secondly, check the electrical control system to make sure that the switches, buttons, indicators and other functions are normal, and there is no leakage or short-circuit hidden danger. At the same time, confirm that the emergency stop button is in a normal working condition, and can quickly cut off the power of the equipment in case of emergency.

After completing the inspection of the equipment, select the appropriate blade and install it correctly according to the material, thickness and cutting size of the sheet to be processed. Be sure to cut off the power supply when installing, and strictly follow the steps in the operation manual to ensure that the blade gap adjustment meets the requirements. Too large a gap may lead to uneven cutting section, while too small a gap will aggravate blade wear and even cause equipment overload. After installation, manually rotate the flywheel to check whether the blade runs smoothly and whether there is any stagnation.

In addition, it is also necessary to clean up the work area, remove tools, materials and sundries not related to this operation, and keep the passageway clear. Operators should wear labor protective equipment that meets safety standards, such as non-slip shoes, protective gloves, goggles, etc., long hair should be tied up and wear a work cap, and it is strictly prohibited to wear loose clothing and jewelry to prevent being hooked by equipment parts.

2, Precautions during operation

Before starting the shearing machine, you need to reconfirm that there is no interference around the equipment, and then close the power switch and start the equipment according to the operating procedures. After the equipment is started, first carry out no-load test run, observe the equipment running status, such as whether there is any abnormal sound, vibration, etc., to be stable after the equipment operation, before cutting operations.

During the sheet feeding process, the operator should stand in the proper position, keep both hands in the correct posture, push the sheet smoothly, and strictly prohibit placing the hands in the working area of the blade. If you need to adjust the position of the sheet or remove the cutting waste, you must first stop the equipment and ensure that the blade is completely stationary. When more than one person work together, need a clear division of labor, unified command, mutual cooperation, to avoid accidents caused by miscommunication.

In the process of cutting, the equipment should be operated in strict accordance with its rated parameters, and the shearer should not be used in excess of specifications or overload. Pay close attention to the operation of the equipment, if you find abnormal vibration, noise, odor, or electrical system failure, you should immediately press the emergency stop button, cut off the power supply, and report to the relevant personnel for overhaul. It is strictly prohibited to carry out overhaul and adjustment under the running condition of the equipment.

3, Processing after stopping the machine

After the cutting operation is finished, stop feeding the material first, wait for the equipment to stop running completely, and then cut off the power supply. Clean up the waste materials and sundries in the equipment and working area to keep the environment tidy. Carry out routine maintenance on the equipment, such as wiping the body, adding lubricant, etc., to ensure that the equipment is in good condition. At the same time, inventory and return the used tools and fixtures to the right place for the next use.

Regularly carry out comprehensive inspection and maintenance of the shearing machine, including the lubrication system, transmission system, electrical system, etc., and replace the worn parts in time to ensure the stable performance of the equipment. Operators should carefully fill in the equipment operation records and maintenance records, detailed records of equipment operating conditions, faults and treatment measures, to provide a basis for equipment management and maintenance.
